Pierre Damin Park
Cambridge Mathematics graduate offering clear, patient private maths tutoring in Berlin and online.
I help students build confidence and understanding in mathematics, especially in international-school, IB, IGCSE/GCSE, A-Level and STEP contexts.
About
Mathematical clarity, international experience, and patient teaching.
I’m Pierre, a British-Korean mathematics graduate from the University of Cambridge, now based in Berlin. I was educated in the UK system from the age of 8, including GCSEs and A-Levels, before studying Mathematics at Cambridge. My A-Levels were in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
My route into education has been shaped by both academic and practical experience. I have privately tutored Korean primary-age students preparing to transition into an English-speaking international school environment, helping them build confidence, curiosity and comfort in a new language and culture. I have also spent several years running a guesthouse operation in London, which developed my communication, organisation and problem-solving skills through day-to-day work with guests, cleaners, contractors and service providers.
I am now focused on mathematics tutoring and education in Berlin. I am particularly interested in helping students who are capable but have lost confidence, or who need abstract ideas explained in a clearer and more intuitive way. Having been through British schooling myself, I understand both the academic expectations and the pressure that can come with GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and international-school mathematics.
I also understand the demands of selective UK mathematics preparation, including STEP and entrance or scholarship-style exams, where students need clear reasoning as well as technical fluency.

Rebuild the topic from first principles and connect abstract ideas to examples.
-
04
Practice
Work through problems together, then gradually move towards independent solving.
-

Follow-up
Agree what to review or prepare for the next lesson.
Before a first lesson, students are welcome to send a recent homework sheet, test, textbook page or topic list so that I can prepare appropriately.
